Bayern Munich players trained behind Ancelotti

Bayern Munich players became so fed up with Carlo Ancelotti’s training methods that they reportedly began conducting their own sessions.

Several Bayern stars including Manuel Neuer, Thomas Muller and Jerome Boateng complained directly to the club’s hierarchy and CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge about Ancelotti’s sessions.

Faith in Ancelotti was clearly at an incredible low, but problems started last season when Xabi Alonso and Philipp Lahm also felt they had to approach Rummenigge to complain about training.

The players’ relationship with fitness coach Giovanni Mauri was particularly bad with the Italian running three-minute sessions, much to the amazement of the Bayern stars.

Arjen Robben has become the vocal point of the players in the press in the past week with the attacker pulling no punches when it came to describing training. He said: ‘There’s better training at my son’s youth team [than under Ancelotti].’
