VC lauds Unilorin Mass Communication

The Vice-Chancellor University of Ilorin, lauded Mass Communication Department in the University.

Prof. Ambali praised the department, who paid him a courtesy visit, to submit sessional publications of the department and to present him an award, on 11 October, 2017.

He said, Mass Communication is key to development in every society and must be reckon with.

According to him, "Any institution that wants to succeed in the society, must have a department of Mass Communication."

Ambali also said, "I hope you become successful in your field and serve the community," as he commended the effort of the students and lecturers of the department.

Speaking on the publications, he said, "I am Happy our students are doing this, and I wish you a better production next time".

He reported that, he hopes the students own their own printing press in future, but added that though the economy is not favourable, but things are improving, he said.

The Head of Department, Dr. (Mrs) S.S Abdulbaqi, commended the effort of the Vice-Chancellor in ensuring that reputable success is recorded in the department, through acquisition of quality equipment for the department.

The department produced four glossy magazines last session and is on verge of producing her annual newspaper, 'Unilorin Watch', to be sold on convocation.
