Trump tweet: Building ✏️ a defence

It looks like the President spent all of Tuesday and Wednesday morning building some defences - praising his administration's work in Puerto Rico, lashing out at the press for not thinking so and for reporting about a rift between Trump and Tillerson, and, finally, calling the quick discovery of the 'demented' Las Vegas shooter a 'miracle'.

While in Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, Trump praised the federal response to the natural disaster. However, he has urged the island's residents to do more to help the government, and said the territory needs to do more to get its truck drivers working again.

🐦 It is a "miracle" how fast the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police were able to find the demented shooter and stop him from even more killing!

Trump made the remarks on the eve of his trip to Las Vegas on Wednesday, when he is expected to meet with victims' families and first responders‼️

Trump on Tuesday night retweeted messages from conservative TV icons Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly, who took aim at Fox News competitors in the wake of the mass shooting 🔫 in Las Vegas.

The official death toll from Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico has increased to 34 from 16, the US territory’s governor has said. 
Ricardo Rossello also said he believes the hurricane that struck on September 20 with winds over 150mph caused 90 billion US dollars (£67.8 billion) in damage across the Caribbean island. The governor made the announcement 🔊 at a news conference following president Trump’s short visit.

🐦 A great day in Puerto Rico yesterday. While some of the news coverage is Fake, most showed great warmth and friendship.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump spent all of Tuesday touring various regions of the U.S. territory island and seeing the devastation left behind by Hurricane Maria.

In San Juan on Tuesday, Trump compared his administration's response to that of the government's efforts following Hurricane Katrina in 2005, which he called "a real catastrophe." His remarks at a meeting with federal and Puerto Rican officials – about the death toll (only 16 certified deaths as of Tuesday, compared to "thousands" during Katrina), the cost of the recovery ("you've thrown our budget a little out of whack") – and his appearance at a supplies distribution center where he tossed paper towels into a crowd of waiting residents, were seen as off-key‼️

🐦 NBC news is FakeNews and more dishonest than even CNN. They are a disgrace to good reporting. No wonder their news ratings are way down!

The NBC News report had said Tillerson considered resigning over the summer amid disagreements with the White House. 
“There’s never been a consideration in my mind,” Tillerson told reporters, in a previously unscheduled statement. The report also said Tillerson even called Trump a “moron” this summer after a meeting at the Pentagon with members of Trump’s national security team and Cabinet officials.

🐦 The NBCNews story has just been totally refuted by Sec. Tillerson and VP Pence. It is FakeNews. They should issue an apology to AMERICA!

Vice President Pence reportedly got involved at the time to discuss ways to ease tensions. Tillerson said Wednesday he would not address “petty” stuff, but said of the president, “He loves this country. He puts Americans and America first. He’s smart.”
