The Chief Executive Officer, Noah’s Ark advertising agency, Mr. Lanre Adisa, has urged students to bring up new innovative ideas and discoveries.
He said this in University of Ilorin, during a programme organise by the General Studies Division of the institution, at the university auditorium.
Lanre in this speech tiltled: ‘Finding your purpose: Life beyond the classroom,' mentioned that greatness starts with passion, progressive practice and that leads to purpose.
He urged students to be self aware, embrace apprenticeship, engage in volunteering or internship activities, find mentors or role models, stay focused and grow their own networks by building goodwill.
He also encouraged students to read, do what they love, have fun and let the world feel their impacts.
He went further to task students present at the event to be hardworking and diligent in their endeavour. ‘May your roads be rough,' he said.
Also, the Sub-dean, Student Affairs Unit of university, Dr. Alex Akanmu, said students in the institution can survive anywhere outside the university. "If you can survive life in Unilorin, you can survive life outside," he said.
In his address, he gave some of the mandates of the division and highlighted the courses designed by the division for students to take and pass before they can graduate from the institution. He thanked the guests present for taking time out of their busy schedules to grace the occasion and urged everyone to sit back and enjoy the lecture.
Also at the event, in a speech delivered by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Management Sciences, who represented the Vice Chancellor, he urged students to express their brilliance and be resourceful. Privatization is the surest way to go if the nation desires steady growth, he said.
He further implored students to make the most use of the lecture that will be delivered.
Other dignitaries present at the event includes: the Deputy Vice Chancellors of the university, Prof. N.Y.S. Ijaiya (Acad.), Prof. Gabriel Olatunji (RTI), Prof. Bolaji Sule (MS), who was the Vice Chancellor’s representative at the event, the University Librarian, the Sub-dean of Student Affairs, former Directors and Coordinators of the General Studies division.
