NAKSS holds public lecture

The National Association of Kwara State Students (NAKSS) has held her 2nd public lecture titled; "The business of cyber law, international policy and private rights," at the Nigerian Bar Association hall, Kwara State High Court, Ilorin.


Dr Ariyoosu; The Head of Business Law Department, Faculty of Law, University of Ilorin, lectured on "Examining Laws on Cybercrimes and Internet Policy vis-à-vis Privacy Rights in Nigeria".


He further explained cybercrime and laws regulating cyber activities such as The Cybercrime Act, 2015; The Nigeria Criminal Code Act; Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006 and The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (Establishment) Act, 2004.


The speaker concluded that, “…The cyberspace is a double-edged sword; it could be used to bring about development and it could be used to destabilize the country and also infringe on the rights of fellow countrymen".


Presentation of award to Manzuma Issa Esq; the honoree and current Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Kwara State Chapter.


Manzuma Issa Esq. in his words of admonition expressed his gratitude and appreciated the efforts of the organizers.


The former President of NAKSS in his vote of thanks recounted and appreciated the kind acts of the honoree.


Other dignitaries were Hon. Justice Moshood Oniye; the newest Khadi in Kwara State, Dr. Ariyoosu; the guest lecture, Dr. Y O Abdul, Dr. Abikan, Alh. Ndagi, President of Lafiaji Descendant Union; Lamidi Akanbi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Student's Affairs among others.
