Movie Reviews: Chef, Blade Runner 2049

🎬Director: Raja Krishna Menon

An angsty divorced middle-aged chef Roshan Kalra (Saif Ali Khan) ventures on a road trip in a food truck🚎 with his teenage son Armaan (Svar Kamble). While the father-son duo embarks on this Indian odyssey, the film meanders🏞 aimlessly.

The script has no hold on the characters nor their purpose and that lethargy presents itself in the actors' emotions too - no one seems to be making a lot of effort here. There are a few endearing moments between Roshan and Armaan but they fizzle out eventually.
The climax too is predictable🙄 and a mess.

But if you hoped that the film would at least give you a foodgasm, you're in for a disappointment. Saif plays around with the same few dishes throughout the film. Oh, but watch out for the only tasty dish in the film - Milind Soman rocking the veshti! Yum!

🎥 Blade Runner 2049

🎬Director: Denis Villeneuve

The sequel to Ridley Scott's🎬 cult classic that fans have been waiting with bated breath delivers big time. It kicks off 30 years after its predecessor. Blade Runner K‍♂ (Ryan Gosling) is in search of Rick Deckard🔫 after he discovers the body of replicant Rachel⚰ and her unborn child.

As is the case with all his films🎞, Denis Villeneuve's 2049 is a visual spectacle capturing the societal contrasts beautifully - slavery, prostitution & poor farmers beneath the flying cars🏎 and huge neon lights.

K's journey not only unravels the 30-year-old mystery in the dystopian world but also sets a new benchmark for the sci-fi genre in the world of films🎥.
