NANCE holds annual convention, election

National Association of Nigeria Campus Editors (NANCE) held her annual convention and election, at NUJ Secretariat, Iwe-irohin Abeokuta.

The programme served as a means of unifying all campus editors across tertiary Institutions in Nigeria, and it started with the recitation of various school  anthem in attendance.

Representative of Ogun State Commissioner for Information and strategy, Mr. Adesina, declares the convention open with an opening speech.

Editor of Ogun State Update, in his speech, urged campus editors to practice Journalism the right way.

He enthused that, journalists should focus and give prominence to developmental journalism in the society, rather than bad news and scandals.

He further stated that, "Let's us take a lock back at our society", and that journalists should spare Nigeria some fault.

Representative of Editor in Chief Naij.com media, Mrs. Odunayo Adams, gave the keynote lecture at NANCE convention.

The Naij.com media Entertainment Editor, urges editors to be actively involved in online journalism.

In her speech titled, *"New media and open source journalism",* Odunayo urges campus editors to be actively involved in online journalism, as mainstream media is gradually fading away.

She said, "There are  lots of opportunities online", and that campus editors should do more and must start now.

According to her, " Online journalism is the main deal."

President, National Association of Nigeria Campus Editors, Mr. Lukman Fasasi, said, a key achievement of his administration is the liberation of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), from corrupt individuals in the management through journalism.

Fasasi charged the incoming administration to be in unity and work in oneness.
