Trump tweet: Under the scanner

It looks like President Trump didn't have anything new to rant about over the weekend and so he stuck 👍 to his current favourites - the press 📰, Congresswoman Wilson and protests by the NFL players.

🐦 Doing interview today with Maria Bartiromo at 10:00 A.M. on @FoxNews - ENJOY!

🐦 Wacky Congresswoman Wilson is the gift that keeps on giving for the Republican Party, a disaster for Dems. You watch her in action & vote R!

Someone's still not in a mood to forgive and move on!

🐦 It is finally sinking through. 46% OF PEOPLE BELIEVE MAJOR NATIONAL NEWS ORGS FABRICATE STORIES ABOUT ME. FAKE NEWS, even worse! Lost cred

A Politico/Morning Consult poll released last week found that 46 percent of voters think the media fabricate reports about Trump and his administration. The poll was conducted after Trump went after media companies in a series of tweets 🐦, saying that their broadcast licenses should be challenged and potentially revoked.

🐦 There will be NO change to your 401(k). This has always been a great and popular middle class tax break that works, and it stays!

President Trump vowed on Monday that his tax cut plan would not include 👏 any changes to tax-deferred retirement accounts such as 401(k)s, following reports last week that House Republicans were weighing a sharp reduction in the amount of income American workers could save through such programs. Such tax-deferred accounts are a popular way that many Americans, especially middle-class workers, save for their retirement❗ Any proposed limits or restrictions could have drawn a sharp backlash, including in the asset management industry.

🐦 Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!

On the first Sunday of games after a meeting last week at which owners and players discussed ways to channel their activist message about police brutality and social injustice into action, the Associated Press counted 22 players out of more than 1,600 who protested in some fashion before day games. Individuals variously knelt, locked arms or raised a fist.

🐦 I had a very respectful conversation with the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson, and spoke his name from beginning, without hesitation!

This defensive tweet comes after Myeshia Johnson, the widow of Sgt. La David Johnson said Trump's call made her "very, very upset and hurt. Very. It made me cry even worse." Trump, she said, said "that he knew what he signed up for, but it hurts anyway. And it made me cry 'cause I was very angry at the tone of his voice and how he said he couldn’t remember my husband’s name," Johnson said on ABC News "The only way he remembered my husband's name is because he told me he had my husband’s report in front of him and that’s when he actually said La David. I heard him stumblin' on trying to remember my husband’s name and that’s what hurt me the most, because if my husband is out here fighting for our country and he risked his life for our country, why can’t you remember his name?" she added.
