Unilorin bags regional debate championship

University of Ilorin debate team, has bagged the regional debate championship for the North Central in Nigeria.

According to the university debate coach, Mr. Ejim David, the competition themed; "BOUNCE CORRUPTION INTEGRITY DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP," was organised by the MacArthur Foundation based in Washington D C and YIAGA, an NGO responsible for the NotTooYoung to run campaign.

According to him, the competition has been to other region where in South West, Unilag emerged champion, in South South, Uniben won, in North East, University of Maiduguri won, for South East, Federal University of Technology, Owerri emerged the champion.

He said, "in the North Central, we are the champion."

He further stated that University of Jos were second, University of Abuja were third and Kogi state University were fourth in the North Central championship.

He reported that, as champions of the North Central region, the university team will be competing with other regional champions later on in the year at the national competition, where the overall champion will emerge.
