UNILORIN: CIS set to mark 10th anniversary

The Faculty of Communication and Information Sciences, University of Ilorin, in conjunction with the Student Union, is set to mark its 10th anniversary since its establishment in 2008.


As part of the activity designed to commemorate the annual event, the organizers have set aside April 11th and 12th as the preliminary stage for student-software developers to showcase their works of which, the top five sofewares will be shortlisted for exhibition at the forthcoming International Conference of the faculty on 18th April, 2018.


The information was made known to members of the university community by the Student Union in its Press Release of 6th April titled, "Software Exhibition To Earmark Faculty of CIS 10th Year Anniversary".


Interested participants have been enjoined to send their details such as name, department, faculty, and phone number to topureay1@gmail.com for registration. In addition, the window for registration will close April 10th, 2018.


According to the organizers, successful developers stand a chance of winning mouth-watery prizes.


The General Secretary, Communication and International Science Students' Association (CISSA), University of Ilorin, Oladejo Qazeem, disclosed to our correspondent that the Honourable Minister of Communication, Abdur-Raheem Adebayo Shittu, local and international acdemics, are among the dignitaries expected to grace the occasion scheduled to hold from 18th to 20th April.
