The mother body of all campus journalism outfits in Nigeria, National Union of Campus Journalists (NUCJ) plans to hold its 2018 convention ceremony at University of Abuja, Abuja.
This year's convention ceremony is a 5-day to run from April 11 to 15. April 11 has been set aside for arrival of trainees, aspirants and members of the executive body. The Journalists' clinic begins on the second day and runs through the third day. The training is to be facilitated by International Centre for Investigative Reporting (ICIR) and Africa Check. Screening, arrival of other delegates, manifesto, election, and general assembly will also take place on both days.
The forum of good governance and leadership will hold on day 4, April 14. This forum will have in attendance, important personalities from within and outside the institution and Abuja at large. TOCJA dinner and awards ceremony will hold at the later hours of the day. Delegates are expected to leave for their various institutions on the last day. Old and new members of the executive body will also have their first meeting together.
The 2018 convention ceremony is expected to be more colorful as over 20 institutions from all six geo-political zones will attend. The awards ceremony, the first of its kind, will also reward Campus Journalists and other people in the society who have distinguished themselves. It is a must attend.
