After spending most of Saturday in Texas and Louisiana, President Trump finally returned to the White House later in the day. But, worry not, the President still found ways to keep on top of his twitter game this weekend, after a brief dip in the number of tweets during the week. Trump proclaimed Sunday, September 3, a National Day of Prayer on Friday. He’s asking Americans 🇺🇸 to pray for those affected by Hurricane Harvey. “As Americans provide much needed relief to the people of Texas and Louisiana, we are reminded of Scripture’s promise that ‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,'” the proclamation states. He also praised Americans for helping those harmed.

"Americans have always come to the aid of their fellow countrymen — friend helping friend, neighbor helping neighbor, and stranger helping stranger,” he said. “As Americans, we know that no challenge is too great for us to overcome.”

Trump was "not able" to visit storm areas or meet victims during his last visit to the area, according to Press Secretary Sanders, but will do so this visit. The president was criticized following his first trip for referring to his visit as seeing storm damage "first hand."
