Trump tweet: One step forward, two steps back

Have you ever seen a child eating a cookie when she's not supposed to and then denying it vehemently? Trump was a little bit like that on Wednesday and Thursday morning when he denied 🚫 that anything had happened during a meeting with democrats last night.

And yet, so many things had happened exactly the way the Democrats had said they did. Of course, he also had to take a jab 👉🏼 at his old opponent Hillary in between, making that his pat-on-the-back tweet for the day.

Trump has reiterated his goal 💪🏻 to lower the US 🇺🇸 corporate tax rate to 15 per cent to "match" China 🇨🇳. But China has a standard corporate tax income rate of 25 per cent , according to the State Administration of Taxation. While certain enterprises in industries encouraged by the Chinese government can qualify for a reduced rate of 15 per cent, the majority of businesses pay the higher rate.

Trump's mention of "deplorables" was a reference to Clinton saying during the campaign that half of Trump's backers were "desperate for change" and the other half belonged in a "basket of deplorables." That label became a rallying cry — against perceived elitism — for many of the Republican's supporters.

🐦 No deal was made last night on DACA. Massive border security would have to be agreed to in exchange for consent. Would be subject to vote.

President Trump insisted Thursday that there was no deal with Democrats yet to extend protections for so-called "Dreamers," but the president pleaded with congressional leaders to reach one, while he vowed to push ahead with his border wall "later."

🐦 The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.

🐦 Does anybody really want to throw out good, educated and accomplished young people who have jobs, some serving in the military? Really! They have been in our country for many years through no fault of their own - brought in by parents at young age. Plus BIG border security

Trump also confirmed on Thursday morning that he supports legislation that would protect young undocumented immigrants from deportation and would deliver a “massive” increase in border security — but not with a wall on the southern border. Weird how he confirmed that he did and didn't do anything, isn't it?

🐦 Am leaving now for Florida to see our GREAT first responders and to thank the U.S. Coast Guard, FEMA etc. A real disaster, much work to do!
