US Open Wrap-up Sharapova⭐ Stuns by Sevastova


17th seed Sam Querry kept the American dream alive in the men's draw by moving to quarter finals with a thumping 6-2 6-2 6-1 win over Mischa Zverev.

Diego Schwartzman, one of the shortest players in the top 100 on the ATP Tour, reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal by beating 16th-seeded Lucas Pouille, 7-6 (3), 7-5, 2-6, 6-2.

Canadian sensation, Denis Shapalov's dream run in the tournament was ended by Carreño Busta in a battle of the tie breaks. Carreno Busta won, 7-6(2) 7-6(4) 7-6(3). 
 
David Goffin progressed to the 4th round after his opponent Gael Monfils retired due to injury with the score at 7-5 5-1, Goffin will next face Russian teenager Andrey Rublev who beat Damir Džumhur 6-4 6-4 5-7 6-4.

South African Kevin Anderson got the better of Lorenzi in his 3rd round game and moved to the 4th round with a 6-4 6-3 5-7 6-4 victory.

Garbine Muguruza was defeated by Petra Kvitova in convincing fashion (7-6 6-3). Kvitova faces Venus Williams in the quarter final who got the better off Suarez-Navarro, 6-3 3-6 6-1.

Another American, Madison Keys came back after losing the 1st set to beat Elena Vesnina 2-6 6-4 6-1.

Anastasija Sevastova, who came back from retirement in 2015, played a terrific match to secure a 5-7 6-4 6-2 win over the resurgent Maria Sharapova.
