Trump tweet: No rest for the weary ⚠️

After much dilly-dallying, President Trump decided to end 🚫 the Dreamers Program yesterday and has faced criticism from all corners regarding this.

So, apart from saying that it is a window for Congress to set things right, he also said that he has 'great love' for the people whose lives he just left hanging in the balance. Apart from this, of course, is his constant vigilance over Hurricane Irma (one of his properties was damaged by the storm already).

President Trump said Tuesday he has “great love”️ for the so-called Dreamers affected by his administration’s decision to end a program giving illegal immigrants who came to the U.S. 🇺🇸 at a young age a reprieve from deportation.

But the president also emphasized that he wants lawmakers to put the “hardworking citizens of our country” first when crafting immigration legislation.

🐦 Congress now has 6 months to legalize DACA (something the Obama Administration was unable to do). If they can't, I will revisit this issue!

So, this is what Trump meant by that statement. "In effect, I am not going to just cut DACA off, but rather provide a window of opportunity for Congress to finally act," the president said. "Young Americans have dreams, too."

White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said the president would look to Congress to pass a "responsible immigration reform package" with money to control the border with Mexico and better protect American workers' jobs — along with protecting the so-called "dreamers" covered by DACA.
