#EndSARS: SARS has arrested our official BudgIT cries out

A project tracking officer at BudgIT Nigeria, Moses Motoni, has been arrested and detained by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for an offence that is yet to be disclosed.

BudgIT revealed via its social media handle that Motoni was arrested in Kaduna State by some unidentified SARS personnel who disguised as delivery men from DHL Nigeria.

The BudgIT staff had reportedly received an SMS from DHL Nigeria to pick up a parcel at Makarfi Plaza at Central Market, Kaduna State, but unknown to him, it was a trap. Motoni was denied bail and the police barred anyone from seeing him by ordering officers at the security post to either send away or detain anybody who came looking for him.

Motoni’s arrest is coming barely 24 hours after popular calls for the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, popularly known as SARS made the IGP order a restructuring of the police squad.

BudgIT Nigeria in a series of tweets made appeals to the who is who in the country, including vice president Professor Yemi Osinbajo to facilitate the quick release of the arrested staff member.
