MSSN Unilorin dissociates from Firdaos protest

MSSN UNILORIN BRANCH

OFFICIAL RELEASE

Thursday 3rd Rabiul Thaani, 1439 (21st December, 2017).
*بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم.*

UNSOLICITED SOLIDARITY

It has been brought to our notice that some groups and individual persons are planning to stage a protest/demonstration to display PURPORTED, UNSOLICITED SOLIDARITY for our sister, Abdulsalam Amosa Firdaos, on Friday 22nd December, 2017.

Sequel to ample efforts already thrown at ensuring that justice prevails over the incidence of our sister's maltreatment and reproval at the Call-to-bar Ceremony held at the ICC Abuja on Wednesday 13th December, 2017 over her insistence on upholding and exercising her constitutionally recognized right and refusal to bow to undue, unconstitutional pressure, the leadership of THE MSSN UNILORIN EMPLOYS THIS MEDIUM TO CALL FOR CALM AND IMPLORE THE ENTIRE MUSLIM STUDENTS OF THE BETTER-BY-FAR UNIVERSITY TO NOT PARTICIPATE IN ANY RALLIES OR PROTESTS ORGANIZED BY GROUPS OR INDIVIDUALS, PRETENTIOUSLY SUPPOSEDLY GEARED TOWARDS SUPPORTING OUR DEAR SISTER, AMOSA FIRDAOS, a graduate of the Faculty of Law in this prestigious citadel of learning.

We so make these submissions.

A. That the MSSN UNILORIN is NOT and WILL NOT be a party to either of organization, planning or execution of the planned protest.

B. That the AMBIGUITIES in the CONFLICTING REPORTS as to the veracity of the claims that some notable persons are solidly behind the protest are questionable and have been denied by the respected persons.
It then suffices to say that participating in a protest whose sponsors are unknown, motives defeated, reasons unreasonable, and intentions far-fetched is dangerous and could defeat the purpose of our #iStandWithFirdaos.
O.Y.O is the case of whoever participates. We dissociate ourselves, NOT from her support, BUT from any form of public demonstration in Firdaos' name.

C. That NEVER WAS and NEVER WILL protests or public demonstrations become from among the ways of the true Muslims.
The Prophet; the best example there can be for MANKIND, never called to it.
Our pious predecessors, from whom we take beneficial knowledge, and those with whom Allãh is well pleased, never treaded the path of public protests against authorities.
Simply put,

PROTESTS/RALLIES/DEMONSTRATIONS AGAINST CONSTITUTED AUTHORITIES ARE PROHIBITED IN ISLAAM, and so Muslims must distance themselves from anything like it.

The MSSN UNILORIN, among other well-meaning bodies, groups and individuals, have continually done all in its capacity to ensure that Sister Amosa Firdaos' maltreatment will not go untended to by the appropriate quarters.
We stand, just like you, with Firdaos.
We salute her courage.
We envy her resilience.
We loud her sacrifice.
We ask Allãh to increase her steadfastness.

...but NEVER shall we CALL FOR or PARTICIPATE in a PUBLIC DEMONSTRATION.

It will do our sister MORE HARM THAN GOOD, if any good. Participants will in fact be sinning.

And so, all MUSLIM STUDENTS OF THE BETTER-BY-FAR UNIVERSITY, and by extension, all Muslims who truly believe in Allãh and follow the path of the Prophet should desist and remove themselves far away from the planned, suspicious, untraceable protest.

We once again pray for victory, and publicly declare our support for Amosa Firdaos on all islamically permissible fronts. Efforts of the National body of the MSSN is duly recognized, the Sultan's voice reached the intended audience. The Senate President has been duly copied. The 'house' will sit on the matter.

What more can we do except pray for #VictoryForFirdaos?
This solidarity, this protest, this demonstration, this rally, whatever name it is called, is one UNSOLICITED.
We so submit.

Wa-sollaLlaahu 'alaa sayyidinaa Muhammad.
