Brain Builders International holds, UN International youth summit, at the NUJ hall


The Summit, themed - YOUTH FOR PEACE: Leveraging Technology and Innovation for Peace Building, Youth Empowerment and Community Development, was to celebrate International Youth Day.

The summit witnessed the presence of the Kwara State Senior Special Adviser on youth matters, Alhaji Saka Babatunde, who, in his address, welcomed the invited dignitaries, congratulated the youth while enjoining them to choose the upright behaviour and declared the program opened.

The National Coordinator of Brain Builders International, Mr Olasupo Abideen, in his welcome address, appreciated the guests, welcomed the participants and the panelists present and wished them a fun filled summit.

The keynote speaker in person of Dr Mahfouz Adedimeji, the Director, centre for Peace and strategic studies, University of Ilorin, gave an applause laden speech on the concepts of "youth", "peace" as well as "peace building".

He emphasised on the need to take care of the inner beauty first before the exterior, as peace and peacefulness emanates from within.
Dr Adedimeji likened peace building to building of a house, as efforts from different quarters will be required to complete the building, hence, peace building is a collective responsibility.

In his words, "peace is rested in contribution not competition, on communication not confrontation".

Other speakers, Mr Muyiwa Matuluko and Mr Eze Ifedy Ralph, delivered their speeches on youthfulness and growing to be better persons.

Mr Ralph reiterated on building on one's passion above ability, pointing out that no business is bad business but bad business managers might make a business go bad.

According to him, "working smart is not a substitute for working hard. One has to work hard - smart and work smart - hard".

Questions and answers were entertained, marking the end of the morning session of the summit.

Other dignitaries at the occasion include, the representative of the speaker of Kwara State house of assembly and Mr Julius, representing Mall  Bolaji Abdullah.
