A building collapse in Lagos, reportedly left many occupants dead.

A Twitter user, Sholana Olumide, tweeting via the account, @lordolu1, said the building collapsed in the Seidu Okeleji area of Meiran.

Olumide who repeatedly called for the attention of emergency services through his tweets also stated that there were survivors trapped in the rubble of the collapsed building.

According to Olumide, emergency teams were yet to arrive the scene of the collapse as of 1 pm but it would appear from a picture of the scene shared by the Punch, that some officials were already at the scene.

In the picture, a translucent ribbon could be seen cordoning off the scene as two men stood by perhaps watching in helplessness. At about 1:20 pm, Olumide shared an update indicating that emergency officials arrived the scene of the building collapse in Meiran.
