Finally, he responded to the news that US Senator McCain was diagnosed with cancer. This was a surprisingly nice note from the President.

Long timers might recall that Trump had said during his campaign that he didn't like McCain because he liked "soldiers who came back." (McCain was a POW during the Vietnam war, tortured for years, but he refused to surrender to the Vietnamese. Trump, on the other hand, skipped the war claiming "bone spurs.")
