Barcelona Terror Attack

A white van :van: ploughed into a crowd of people in Las Ramblas area of Barcelona 🇪🇸, in what authorities are treating as a terror attack.

The _El Pais_ newspaper reported at least 10 people have died while Cadena Ser radio station 📻 reported 13 people were killed in the attack. Police have not yet confirmed the number of casualties 💐.

Authorities said the vehicle mounted a pavement and struck people in a "massive crash" 💥 in an area of the city that is popular with tourists.

An eyewitness told a Spanish television station 📺 that the suspect was running people over in his van for nearly 1,000 feet before fleeing into a nearby Turkish restaurant‼️

The witness said the suspect had something in his hand 👀 but he could not tell what it was. Police sources told ABC News there is also an ongoing hostage 🔫 situation at a nearby restaurant.
