Movie: Game of Thrones⚔ - Season 7⃣, Episode 5 Recap

Eastwatch

Bronn and Jaime are alive! There's some bromance💙 between them and it feels more genuine than Cersei handtwisting Jaime. Tyrion, in another part of the fire-and-ash battlefield, is inspecting the spoils of war, disbelieving of the wreck left behind.

Drogon🐉 is alright, folks, so you can breathe a sigh of relief. To the few (good?) men left of the Lannister army, Daenerys says, 🔈"I know what Cersei has told you. But all I want to destroy is the wheel of rich and the poor. Bend the knee now. But refuse, and die." If her words aren't strong enough, Drogon stands by, spitting smoke🐲, for good effect.

But two men won't bend their knee - Lord Randyll and Dickon Tarly. Even Tyrion's appeal to choose a new queen fails. "There are no easy choices in war," 🔈reflects Randall. And would Daenerys rather imprison them than behead♂ them? 🔈"If I put men in chains, they'll start taking that option." Oh, and she doesn't behead them either. That's not how she and Drogon roll, you know🔥.

Jaime is back to Cersei, painting her a grim picture. He tells her of Lady Olenna's dying confession and reasons that Tyrion did not have reason‍♂ to murder Joffrey. So, isn't it better to surrender than be blown to ashes☄ by the dragons? Queen Cersei can only condemn, 🔈"Fight or die, submit or die. I know my choice, the soldier should know his." Pffft.

Dragonstone might as well have been a petting zoo for Jon Snow🗡 and Daenerys, for Drogon and Jon have a 'moment.' Their eyes meet👁 and there's an instant connection between them at Jon's touch. Awwww😻. Daenerys is as amazed as Jon. Smell the Targaryen blood, sista🐉!

Oh, and Ser Jorah hath arriveth👏🏼, so there might be some speed bumps in the Jon and Daenerys love story⏰. In fact, Jon ain't too pleased by Daenerys' enthusiasm upon Jorah's arrival😃, and Jorah doesn't miss the undercurrents between Jon and Daenerys either. This could be interesting😏.

Meanwhile in Winterfell, Bran's 'night vision'👀 sees legions of Nightwalkers marching towards the Wall. Following this, the Citadel gets the first raven🦅 from Bran and it's up to Sam to convince the archmaesters that the threat is real and Bran's vision👀 is not to be taken lightly. The archmaesters are also kind enough not to mention to Sam that Drogon🐲 has just burned his brother and father alive. Grrrr.😤

Jon has come to know that Bran and Arya are alive👫 and he needs to go home ASAP to defend the North. The impending threat is made more certain with Bran's raven🦅. The seven kingdoms need to unite to survive. It's Tyrion's advice to get Cersei👿 on their side. How? If she won't believe that the Nightwalkers are anything more than a wet nurse's story📖, then take a Nightwalker to her. So that's what the good samaritan Ser Jorah would do - bring back one of those suckers. Only, Jon volunteers to go along too.

But in order to convince Cersei to grant them an audience, Tyrion sneakily meets with Jaime. It's cold vibes, but Jaime is sold. Of course nothing can go on without Cersei's knowledge and she already knows about this.

She's also prudent enough to know when to agree to a truce with the Mother of Dragons. To attain the Iron Throne, patience is virtue. But she also has another reason - for the future of her baby! That's right, Jaime is going to be a papa again and this time they're not going to make secret of the DNA, because 🔈"the lion does not concern itself with the opinions of the sheep."

Ser Davos seeks out Gendry🔨, Robert Baratheon's bastard, who volunteers to fight the Nightwalkers💀 too.

Back at the Citadel, Sam is tired of reading about the achievements of better men📚. With a few dusty books he's lifted from the library, he, Gilly and the baby take off👋 in the dark on the night.

Arya, you better watch your back, Littlefinger hasn't earned his reputation for nothing. He's watching her and laying a trap for her, that Arya might soon just fall into.

Jon and party reach the Wall👥. Tormund wants to know if Brienne is with them too! There they meet the Eastwatch’s current prisoners - The Hound💪, Thoros of Myr🗡 and Beric Dondarrion. There's a verbal tussle between the prisoners and Gendry, but Jon intervenes, 🔈"We're all on the same side. We're breathing."

So there you go, the best fighters are marching beyond. Some battle that's going to be⚔.
