Nigerian arrested for peddling heroin, in India


Police in India arrested a Nigerian resident of Delhi for drug peddling as an anti-narcotics team declares another Nigerian identified simply as Cheeku wanted.

Authorities said Cheeku became a suspect after he was named as supplier by four Indian nationals caught with 70g of the drug.

The main accused in the case, Ravi Verma, was said to be serving a 10-year jail term which was supposed to have ended on August 30, Rajinder Kumar added.

According to The Tribune, few weeks ago, the police in the Indian city of Bathinda arrested two Nigerians on drug related offences. One of them was in the country for studies while the other was there on business.
