Ever Wear White Boots After Labor Day? Mary-Kate Olsen Makes the Case

As co-designer of The Row with her sister Ashley, Mary-Kate Olsen knows a thing or two about women's dream wardrobes.

And earlier today in New York, the 31-year-old debuted a new way to elevate grunge style. Olsen stepped out in an autumnal ensemble, grounded with a piece that still felt like summer: the white boot.

While Gigi Hadid can be credited for catapulting the humble Doc Marten from its steampunk roots to the international runways, Olsen’s white version, shown as part of The Row’s fall 2017 collection, infused the rough-and-tumble look of the English rocker staple with an urban slickness.

The tight mid-calf boots offset the fluidity of Olsen's layers. A slouchy cardigan-coat was a cool alternative to the blazer, while a fire-engine red top provided a bold pop of color.
