Mendy makes jokes, as Man City play down Aguero police report

Manchester City players were embroiled in a minor fracas with police after Raheem Sterling's dramatic 98th-minute winner sparked wild scenes at Bournemouth's Vitality Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.

Police have taken a statement from a Bournemouth steward who claims they were hit by Sergio Aguero as the City players celebrated with their fans.

Aguero did not speak to police before leaving the stadium, though City officials are confident their striker will be cleared of any wrongdoing.

Aguero and some of his team-mates had also appeared to confront police after a City fan had been led away as he celebrated Sterling's goal.

Sterling had raced to the away end after bagging a deflected winner which handed City a 2-1 victory, which landed him a controversial second yellow card from referee Mike Dean.
