Game of Thrones⚔, S07 E06 Recap

Death Is My Enemy

Spoilers Ahead‼

GoT⚔ has stayed true to its tradition of making its penultimate episode📽 the most dramatic of them all. 'Death Is My Enemy' has been a killer🗡, for more reasons than one.

It begins with Jon Snow and party venturing North, beyond the wall🏰, in an attempt to capture and bring back a White Walker. There is some unusual camaraderie and bonding between this band of bandits. There's Jon🐺, The Hound, Gendry, Jorah, Beric, Thoros and Tormund, among others👥.

Tormund even takes a jab at Jon when he says Daenerys🐉 wants him to bend the knee. 🔈"You've spent too much time with the Free Folk and now you don't like kneeling."

All this is before the freezing draft brings an undead bear🐻 before them. Some intense fighting later, the threat becomes more imminent.

Arya🎭 confronts Sansa about the letter the latter wrote to Robb in season 1⃣, where Sansa calls Ned a traitor and urges Robb to swear fealty to Joffrey. Arya, over zealous and suspicious of😒 her sister, is unable to discern that Sansa wrote the letter✍🏻 under coercion.

Sansa is worried what Arya might do with this info or who else she might show the letter📜 to. And who's around to comfort her? Little Finger of course! He suggests that Brienne🗡 should take care of Arya, like the promise she made to Catelyn. Well played, Lord Baelish👍🏽.

Elsewhere in Dragonstone, Daenerys is laying her vulnerability bare😊, before Tyrion. She's glad Tyrion isn't a hero like Drogo, Jorah, Dario or Jon🐺, always up to "brave and stupid things." Tyrion observes how she drops the names of people who've been in love💙 with her and Dany, of course, is in denial!

Meanwhile, Jon's party manages to fight off a small group of White Walkers💀 and tackle one alive too. But just as they think bags are packed, ready to go🚶, the captive WW's high pitched screeches draws the attention of the rest of 'em.

After a brave fight that claims the life of Thoros of Myr, the band is chased into the middle of an open ground❄, but the thin sleet comes to their rescue, with the WW falling in. By nightfall🌌, the good men are trapped at the centre, surrounded by thousands of WWs☠ on all sides.

Gendry, who was commanded back to Eastwatch🏯 by Jon, reaches and sends an SOS raven🦅 to Dany.

Back in Winterfell, Sansa receives word from King's Landing that Cersei👑 has beckoned her. Against Brienne's advice, Sansa wants Brienne to go in her place and acts a bit like a spoilt😾 and on-edge queen. Later in the episode, Sansa discovers Arya's masks🎭 while snooping around the latter's room.

While Arya doesn't bother with direct answers, she's substantially threatened👿 her big sis, to dare not vie for the crown of the north🗻, that belongs to Jon.

Speaking of advice falling on deaf ears, Dany flies away🐉 to rescue the men, with her dragons, much to the disapproval of Tyrion😑.

Beyond the wall, it's dawn and the sleet solidifies enough for the WW💀 to plough on. The men are battling more than they can handle. The fight that rages on is one of the best👏 of the series.

Enter Dany and the dragons, to wreck havoc🔥. But the Night King is watching, missy, you'd better watch your back. With his ice spear💎, he takes clear aim of one of the dragons and strikes it down😱. (Judging by its lightness and the red on its wings, maybe it was Viserion?🐲)

As Drogon (who Dany is riding) and Rhaegal howl away😭, Jon, who is on the ground while the others have mounted Drogon, commands the group to leave, seeing the Night King☠ ready for his target practice once more. Dany takes off, heartbroken💔 as only a mother would be, with Jon going down underwater.

When a shivering Jon resurfaces, seconds⌛ before he's about to be engulfed by the WW, it's lasso-wielding Uncle Benji to the rescue. While he sends off Jon on his horse🏇, it's the last ever we'll see of him. RIP, old man💐.

The Hound is on his way to Queen's Landing with their captive💀, while Drogon's wails match Dany's grief. Her speck of relief is to see Jon back, barely alive. Here's the moment you've been hoping for, for that connection and romance💕 to brew between Dany and Jon.

While Jon is sorry about what happened, steely Dany says, 🔈"The dragons are my children. They're the only children I'll ever have. Do you understand? We are going to destroy the Night King and his army. We will do it together."

"Thank you Dany," says Jon💚. When Dany ain't too happy with the name (she's got bad memories associated with it), he suggests, "How about my Queen?" Their eyes meet, they're holding hands, and the moment seems perfect.

Only, not so much. In other news, the Night King has his army pull out the slain dragon🐉, only to resurrect him, un-dead and blue-eyed, with the touch of the hand! Darn!

So, now you know who the second dragon rider will be (Jon🗡) and where the speculated Ice Dragon emerges from. What a show👏 Ice, ice baby☃...
