Trump to double down on Afghanistan 🇦🇫 war

After studying Afghanistan 🇦🇫 in detail, and a meeting with his cabinet and generals in Camp David last week, Trump said he came to three conclusions in terms of America's 🇺🇸 interests in Afghanistan 🇦🇫 - No rapid exit, changing the strategy from nation building to targeting terrorists and focusing on relations with Pakistan.

"My original instinct was to pull out but decisions are much different when you sit behind the desk in the oval office," said the President. "Our nation must seek an honorable and enduring outcome worthy of the sacrifices we've made."‼️

He also mentions that a rapid exit from Afghanistan 🇦🇫 would be catastrophic. "Consequence of a rapid exit are predictable and unacceptable. The attack on 9/11 was planned and directed from Afghanistan because that government gave comfort and shelter to terrorists," he said.

He said that the last time the US 🇺🇸 withdrew troops rapidly from Iraq 🇮🇶, "Hard won games slipped back into the hands of terrorist. We cannot repeat in Afghanistan🇦🇫, the mistakes our leaders made in Iraq🇮🇶."

Trump recognised the fact 👍 that the US' 🇺🇸 strategy with Afghanistan🇦🇫 has to change from trying to build their nation 🌆 to supporting them in fighting ⚔ terrorists.

"No one denies that we have inherited a challenging situation in Afghanistan," he said. He also mentioned that he was dealt a "bad and complex hand" when he came to power. " The US will support the Afghan government and military in fighting terrorists. But we will not dictate to afghan people how to live or govern their complex society. We are not nation building again, we are killing terrorists."

He also stressed the need to confidentiality. He said that the US 🇺🇸 military will no longer announce dates🔊 of attacks or the number of troops or plans of further military activity. "I will not say when we are going to attack but attack we will," he thundered.
