Trump on Pakistan 🇵🇰 and India's 🇮🇳 role in Afghanistan 🇦🇫

President Trump, during his speech on Monday, mentioned that the threat of war ⚔ is higher 📈 now since Pakistan 🇵🇰 and India 🇮🇳 are nuclear armed states whose tense relations threaten to spiral into conflict.

He also said that the US's 🇺🇸 relationship with Pakistan 🇵🇰 will change.

"We can no longer be silent about Pakistan's safe haven to terrorists. Pakistan has much to gain from partnering with us in our efforts but much to lose from harbouring terrorists," he said.

But, the President also recognised the good relations that the US has had with the country in the past, where they have worked to fight terror.

"We recognise those contributions and sacrifices. But they shelter organisations that try to kill our people. And we have been paying Pakistan billions but they are housing the terrorists we are fighting.

That has to change and change immediately." He also added that "It's time for Pakistan to demonstrate its commitment to civilisation order and peace."

And for this reason, he says that the US's 🇺🇸 Strategic partnership with India 🇮🇳 is crucial. He stressed on India's commitment with the US to keep South Asia a safer place.

"India has been a great security and economic partner to us and we thanks them for their contributions to war in Afghanistan," said Trump but stressed the need for India 🇮🇳 to do more on that front.

"India earns billions of dollars in trade with US and we want them to help us more in Afghanistan, especially in the fields of economic assistance and development."
