Just two days after President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Nigeria from his medical leave in London, his spokesman, Femi Adesina, revealed that he could travel back to the United Kingdom in order to receive further medical treatment.
“What Nigerians should hope for is that our president will remain whole,” he said. “But if there is any reason to go out [to the UK], why not? You need to first stay alive so you can lead a country.”
Mr. Adesina expressed hope, however, that “the worst is over.” The president has drawn criticism for neglecting to address his health challenges in the speech he delivered to Nigerians on Monday morning.
