UNILORIN Debate Team dazzles at FUTA OPEN 2.O.

It was a "happy ending ever after" at the just concluded FUTA OPEN 2.0 in Akure.

After four days of intense battle of the jaws, the FUTA Open Debate tournament has now come to an end. Schools in attendance include University of Lagos, University of Ilorin, Afe Babalola University, Covenant University, FUTA (the host university) amongst others.

In the end, Unilorin came 2nd runner-up behind FUTA and UNILAG in 1sf runner-up and eventual winners respectively. However, Unilorin made some Giant strides which includes;
1. The BEST Adjudicator of the tournament and the 4th ranked judge as well.
2. Three (3) UNILORIN speakers awarded amongst the top 10 speakers of the tournament.

Speaking with our correspondents, a member of the debate team Mr Yusuf Toheeb (Physical Science) said 
"We did exceptionally well. Our debaters gave a mind blowing performance. It was shocking to see our debaters trail in 3rd place. There was more of politicking in the grading. But it's OK. We know our worth and we're proud of our performance."

"It's been a great experience for  most of us, especially the new members of the team brought here. Fresh from their participation at the just concluded Emirates Verbal Combat 1.0. It was an amazing experience and the prospects are great. In the end, we are still better by Far." said Mr. Yusuf.

The team has since arrived back to the Better By Far campus, relishing the fresh breath of the four day miss of the atmosphere.
