2017 INTER FACULTY QUIZ COMPETITION GETS UNDERWAY

This year's INTER-FACULTY quiz competition got underway yesterday at the University auditorium. The annual competition which celebrates exceptionality in world general knowledge kick started at about 4:20pm with the school anthem. Prof. Omotesho then welcomed participants to the competition and declared the competition open.

The quiz master called out the 15 faculties for which 14 showed up as education failed to appear. Three groups of 5 faculties in each group. Group 1; comprising of Law, Life Sciences, Arts,  CIS, Education.

Group 2;  Physical Science, Pharmacy, Social Science, Engineering, Basic Medical Sciences

Group 3; Environmental Science, Clinical Sciences, Vet. Medicine, Management Science and Agric Science.

After the groupings, the Quiz master announced to the audience that the university debate team had qualified to the finals of the ongoing FUTA OPEN 2.0. All debaters in the team got to the finals.

After series of engagement between the various faculties, the following scores depicts the outcome of the preliminary stage;

Contest (Group) 1:
Arts- 185
CIS- 70
Law- 170
Life Sci. 200
Education 0

Contest (Group) 2:
Physical Science- 87
Pharmacy's- 140
Social Science- 20
Engineering- 110
Basic Med. Science- 100

Contest (Group) 3:
Environmental Sci. - 180
Clinical Science - 210
Vet. Medicine- 130
Mgt. Science - 60
Agric. Sci. - 160

Therefore the best three faculties from each group progressed to the next stage. The faculties are;

1) Life sciences
2) Arts
3) Law
4) Pharmaceutical Sciences
5) Engineering & Technology
6) Basic Medical Sciences
7) Clinical sciences
8) Agricultural Sciences
9) Environmental sciences

The next round is  billed for Wednesday, 24th May at the University auditorium by 3pm prompt.
