Trump Tweet: Playing it cool

President Trump seems to be taking it cool this weekend, saying no to being Time magazine's 'Person of the year', being rather surprised at his own accomplishments and supporting small business. He does manage to take a swipe or two at 'fake news' along the way.

🐦 Will be calling the President of Egypt in a short while to discuss the tragic terrorist attack, with so much loss of life. We have to get TOUGHER AND SMARTER than ever before, and we will. Need the WALL, need the BAN! God bless the people of Egypt.

Trump's reasoning seems to be that a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border will keep Muslim extremists from crossing into the United States 🇺🇸. That claim echoes those made by current and former members of the Trump administration. Of course, he's also sly, bringing up his travel ban every time there's an attack somewhere.

🐦 Time Magazine called to say that I was PROBABLY going to be named “Man (Person) of the Year,” like last year, but I would have to agree to an interview and a major photo shoot. I said probably is no good and took a pass. Thanks anyway!

Time tweeted back: “The president is incorrect about how we choose Person of the Year. Time does not comment on our choice until publication, which is December 6.

The timing of Trump’s anti-CNN, pro-Fox News tweet is of particular interest, as the Department of Justice is currently attempting to stop a merger between AT&T and Time Warner — who acts as CNN’s parent company.

President Donald Trump shared an article 📰 about the website magapill showcasing his “accomplishment list” though, aside from including a faulty link, the Twitter account associated with the site frequently posted content that was antisemitic or conspiratorial in nature.
