Silva signs new Manchester City contract

David Silva has signed a new one-year contract at Manchester City, the club has confirmed.

The Spain international, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since 2010, has put pen to paper on a new deal that will keep him at the club until 2020.

Silva has been in exceptional form thus far this season, with Pep Guardiola's side threatening to run away with the Premier League title.

He has provided eight assists and scored one goal in 14 league appearances thus far as City have an eight-point lead from Manchester United at the top of the table.

"I am so happy to have committed my future to City," the 31-year-old told City's official website.
